Pomaria is a well established West Auckland school which has a steep history dating back to 1964. Pomaria school was opened as an attached school to Henderson North in Term three 1969. It became a separate school in February 1964. As the local apple orchards and market gardens gave way to housing the roll quickly grew.
Pomaria School is a large, culturally diverse urban school. The school values of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, tūrangawaewae and mātauranga are well embedded in the learning environment. A culture of inclusion, openness and positive relationships, permeates all aspects of the school. Families and staff have a longstanding relationship with the school with some family connections spanning generations
